Writer, The Gatekeeper

Jennifer Vanderbes is a novelist, journalist, and screenwriter whose work has been translated into seventeen languages. Her most recent book, Wonder Drug: The Secret History of Thalidomide in America and Its Hidden Victims, was published by Random House in 2023. Her books have received awards from the Guggenheim Foundation, the Sloan Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities and the New York Public Library. As a screenwriter, Vanderbes was named a 2022 Athena List Winner for The Gatekeeper (a feature adaptation of Wonder Drug) and was also honored by the New York Foundation for the Arts. Jennifer is currently a writer/co-producer on Law & Order.
