Kristen Edney is a screenwriter based in New York, who has also lived in Cuba and France. Set in U.S., international and historical settings, Kristen’s work explores cultural nuance and features characters who challenge the boundaries of identity, power, and belonging.

She is the recipient of a 2023 Sloan Screenplay Grant, the Jesse Thompkins III Screenwriting Award, a 2022 Diverso Minority Report and 2024 Cine Qua Non Storylines Lab fellow. Kristen served as a script researcher on the Sundance award-winning film, “Epicentro.” She is an MFA graduate of Columbia University’s School of the Arts where she now teaches screenwriting.
