Writer/Director/Editor/Producer, Stranded

Raina Yang is a Chinese writer and director based between New York and Guangzhou, currently pursuing her MFA in Film Directing at Columbia University. Her most recent short film, shot in Newfoundland, Canada, was supported by PictureNL and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. Through close collaborations with diverse communities, her work explores transcultural and collective narratives, and has screened at festivals including the Asian American International Film Festival. A fellow at the Athena Writers Lab, she is currently developing her debut feature, Transcender—a near-future sci-fi drama that investigates digital consciousness, identity, and the emotional dimensions of technological afterlife.
