Rita Blaik is a multidisciplinary scientist and artist specializing in nanotechnology, particularly for energy and implantable device applications. She received her PhD in Materials Science and Engineering in 2015 working on nano-scale architectures for biofuel cells under the direction of Professor Bruce Dunn. Her life’s goal is to find new and innovative ways of communicating science to people through interactive discussions, art, and other media. Currently, she serve as the Manager of Education at the California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) at UCLA, and as a faculty member at ArtCenter College of Design. Her artwork has been exhibited in galleries through Los Angeles, Ars Electronica, and the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art.
