Synopsis 

A handpicked team of hotshot women pilots trained at the only all-female airbase in American history race to learn why a notorious bomber essential to the D-Day invasion of Normandy has such a high fatality rate despite fierce opposition from male combat pilots, an unctuous base commander and a Congressman hell bent on stopping them even if Allied Forces are left without sufficient air support. Despite meeting their objective and successfully delivering the bombers to Nova Scotia in time for the defining battle of World War Two, the members of the Women’s Air Force Service Pilots are abruptly dismissed from service just as the war they also fought and served in is brought to an end.
