Synopsis 

Based upon Laura van den Berg’s short story “What the World Will Look Like When All the Water Leaves Us,” The Burning Season tells the story of a primatologist’s tenuous relationship with her teenage daughter, which is threatened by her determination to save an endangered species in a remote region of Madagascar. Enlisting the help of a local scientist, and the escalation of slash-and-burn farming, further puts them to the test.
